The Holiday that is Ending!

i actually wanted to blog about some other outings i had as well during this 1 week break, and they were mainly with my CG, however, since i had already uploaded those photos onto facebook, i decided to post the other photos that i have on my com with other friends! :) u really must see the food from equinox below, it looks so nice..!

ok, so here we go.. this was on a very errmm, unfortunate driving day. haha, a saturday filled with the most interesting driving encounter i have had up to this moment.. so i had decided on dinner at this super ulu place - Seletar Airbase, which well, is where the youth flying club is. its damn freaking ulu. initially, i didn't even know if i was at the right place, because it said 'No Entry' blah blah blah. then i figured, it couldn't be a military place cuz there were quite a few houses inside.

so i went in, and circled round and round, until, i thot i saw the place i was supposed to go to! haha, wait, first a photo tt claire and aud took while i was still making my way there.. haha. see it was nice and bright, and still possible to see the sunset later on like we planned!

ok, as u can probably see in the next photo.. i had got myself into a fix. hmmm, i missed a turn, so i was trying to reverse back so i could turn. but tt place was seriously misty or sth, there was just a whole lot of condensation on my rear windscreen and so i couldn't really see where i was going. PLUS, it was so dark and there were no lights, so yes, i reversed into a drain. and i got stuck.. it was a gutter thing, and both wheels on the left went down. haha. so basically there was no way i was gonna drive it out, as much i tried. i rev-ed the engine a lot, to no avail. it was quite exciting actually as i was wondering if my car was gonna tip into the drain.

so after a while, i decided to get out and call claire and aud, as well as my dad. haha. while waiting for them to pick me up from tt ulu-ness, there were actually quite a few helpful passerbys who decided to detour to ask if i needed a lift, tt is after they figured there was no way tt car was coming out without a tow truck. ok, so to cut a long story short, the tow truck then came and managed to get the car out! :) haha

ok, so this was how dark it was by the time we got back to dinner.. sorry guys for making u miss the sunset! :( i thot it would be nice, but well, what a stupid thing happened.

so we started by ordering the famous buffalo wings! they are, according to the chicken wing expert audrey, the best she has eaten! it comes in 10 levels of spiciness, and we had level 1, as recommended by the waitress, and it was quite hot already. but the combination of spiciness and tanginess was really good, and i loved it :)

the place had quite a nice ambiance!



3 of us had these BBQ pork ribs, which were quite good actually..

overall, the food was quite good, and the place was unique.. i quite enjoyed it,. :) oh the seletar airbase roads are so interesting.. they have piccadilly, oxford, park lane, etc! its like london.. haha

after dinner, we decided to head to chomp chomp, since i've never been there b4, and since it was quite 'near' to seletar..

we just had desserts, except mich order 2 desserts.. haha. i think chomp chomp isn't really tt nice, i'd prefer the food around east coast anytime.. yeah, i'm glad i stay near so much nice food :D

so today, we had the most filling lunch ever!! we went to equinox for a semi-buffet lunch.

other views of the city, this is boat quay in the center, and u can actually make out chinatown as well, with tt awful pearl center with its unique colors. LOL.

and then we started on our buffet after ordering.. haha..


foie gras.. mich ate soo many of these! it didn't help tt they were frying it nearby, and everytime u get a whiff of tt sweet fat-burning smell, u feel like eating it!

ooh, the oysters were so good, i should've had more!

lamb with miso and pumpkin sauce - this was just excellent!

seabass with lemon grass - turned out to be the wisest choice cuz it was the lightest dish. haha

duck with beetroot and chestnut paste. it was really good, but i was just so stuffed, and sick of duck/goose tt i couldn't finish it. haha

can u see fullerton hotel? its so interesting..

and on to desserts.. the chocolate mousse and the creme brulee were just fantastic!

i couldn't believe mich was eating tt pink thing! she said she didn't know where to buy it from.. -.-"

ok, one last short entry.. this was at my place! we bought crabs from joochiat place, chicken wings and hokkien mee and had a nice dinner..

the crabs were rather cheap and tasted quite good.. :) quite worth it.. and well, the chicken wings are as nice as ever!

but what turned out to be the highlight of the day was, the Wii tt claire had brought along! haha. she had such super fun games.. there was a Marvel Super heros game, which is co-op type, and u get to do quite a lot of interesting powers. and then, there was this crazy bunny game which was so hilarious. morbidly cute ala happy tree friends, and yet, quite cute. ok, and it just had the craziest games.. we just laughed and laughed non stop.. its not really describable.. haha.

but yes, i want a Wii now! though its so ex..

i'm so grateful for this hols.. it means so much after u just slog and wake up so early for 2 months. haha. and of course, even more grateful to all the friends to share and enjoy the hols with.. it wun be the same without them indeed! :)
